🇹🇼🇨🇳 #Taiwan tracks 47 #Chinese military aircraft, 21 ships around nation

Sixteen of the 47 People’s Liberation Army aircraft crossed the Taiwan Strait median line in the nation’s southwestern air defense identification zone, according to the MND.

China announced 7 restricted airspace zones along its coast until Wednesday.

The Ministry of National Defense tracked 47 Chinese military aircraft, 12 naval vessels, and nine official ships around Taiwan between 6 a.m. on Monday and 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

In response, Taiwan sent aircraft and naval ships and deployed coastal-based missile systems to monitor PLA activity. So far this month, Taiwan has tracked Chinese military aircraft 150 times and ships 110 times.

A senior Taiwanese security official told Reuters that the PLA had deployed around 90 navy and coast guard ships near Taiwan and southern Japanese islands in the East and South China Sea with around two-thirds Chinese navy vessels.

The MND activated its response center and directed all units to stay on high alert to monitor the PLA drills.
