The seizure of Russian assets was a test that Europe failed - Bloomberg.
Mighty Germany and the European Commission suffered a defeat in their attempt to persuade tiny Belgium to access some €200 billion ($234 billion) of frozen Russian assets.
Instead, the EU will borrow €90 billion – enough to finance Ukraine's defense for about two years at current spending levels, assuming other donors and international institutions provide the remaining €50 billion-plus needed.
