- Established Wagner Group in 2014 to support Russian forces in the war in Donbas.

- Operations expanded to Syria and Africa, became key player in 2022 Ukraine War.

- His troops led successful campaign to take Bakhmut earlier this year.

- Had been in a growing public feud with Russian defense minister Sergei Shoigu over alleged corruption and incompetence.

- Led mutiny against Putin and Russia\'s military this past June, was halted after mediation brokered by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

- Prigozhin killed today in plane crash in Tver Oblast, north of Moscow.
