Germany's SPIEGEL report on the arrest of Uyghur filmmaker Ikram Nurmehmet.
In the report, I criticize a recent opinion piece by senior German sinologists Heberer and Schmidt-Glintzer, which said Xinjiang was much better now after a "successful" campaign against "terror."
I state that their piece does "not confirm to scientific method," but represents the uncritical opinions of two sinologists who have not researched and do not possess a professional understanding of Xinjiang.
