Chinese growth has hit what I call "the authoritarian wall".
Both Russia and China will never grow past a certain point for the simple reason that when there's no surity of your company not just be stolen and handed to a member of the ruling party after you being thrown in jail or murdered, any great ideas will just be released in the safety of a western country, with rule of law.
Keeping what you work for is the core of western democracy and the reason we will always have better ideas, higher quality products, even better weapons.
Russia and China can grow in short bursts due to temporary high oil prices or from stone age to relative modernity, but the best ideas will always gravitate toward rule of law, safely attached to their originators.
