Elon says the Kardashev Scale makes the path clear because a civilization grows by learning how to gather the energy around it and solar sits at the center of that climb.

Even a small stretch of Texas or New Mexico could cover all electricity needs in the United States.

One square mile can take in about two point five gigawatts of sunlight and roughly three gigawatt hours of power can flow from that space each day.

Starlink already runs on solar and storage which matches Elon’s long view of rooftops, sunlight, and a future powered by simple abundance.
