Rep. Randy Fine is vowing to pursue an effort to expel Rep. Ilhan Omar from Congress if she remains in her seat after the DOJ wraps its investigation into her immigration history.
The move comes after a federal court filing identified Omar under the name "Ilhan Nur Said Elmi," listing "Ilhan Abdullahi Omar" as an alias — raising fresh questions about her identity and immigration records. Fine, a House Freedom Caucus member, told Fox News Digital he believes Omar may not even be a U.S. citizen, though she became a naturalized citizen in 2000.
"You can't be in Congress if you're not a citizen of the United States, but if it isn't automatic, I absolutely will demand expulsion immediately," Fine said. The House has the constitutional authority to expel a member, but doing so requires a two-thirds vote. Omar has denied wrongdoing and called the investigation politically motivated.
