As the TikTok ban approaches, it’s vital to remember the KNOWN national security risks this platform poses.
A 2023 BBC report revealed TikTok employees in China and the US tracked UK journalist @cristinacriddle’s private movements without her consent. Using her IP data, they monitored her location—even though her account, under her cat’s name, had just 170 followers.
Cyber-security expert @profwoodward, from @UniOfSurrey, said this level of tracking "cannot be described as accidental or even incidental".
This wasn’t a one-off mistake—it exposed how TikTok misuses its vast data collection capabilities to target individuals. With ByteDance headquartered in Beijing, the risks of foreign surveillance are undeniable.
Banning TikTok isn’t just prudent—it’s necessary to protect privacy, security, and sovereignty. How much more proof do we need?
