STARLINK: Ontario will miss its 2025 rural broadband goal, pushing it to mid-2028. This is due to Ontario Premier Doug Ford scrapping the $100M Starlink contract back in March and paying an undisclosed break fee.
Ford did this for political reasons against Donald Trump and Elon's support for him all at the expense of his own constituents. There are no viable alternatives and the $4B program, targeting 700,000 households, remains active.
