China’s engineering marvel 👀

Nov 11: the Hongqi Bridge (红旗大桥) at the Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station (双江口水电站) in Barkam (马尔康市), Aba (or Ngawa) Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture (阿坝藏族羌族自治州), Sichuan province, collapsed after 4pm local time, apparently after a landslide occurred on the slope to which one end of the bridge was connected. The bridge was just completed earlier this year.

No casualties were reported as the bridge had been closed since yesterday (Nov 10) after fractures were discovered.
