It shows the soldiers their leaders are willing to run the same risks as them and also put their lives on the line for their country. It can’t be stressed how much more dangerous it is close to the front than it was even a year ago.
Zelensky was in Kherson two days after it was liberated and still under artillery fire (my photo below) and has consistently visited the hottest parts of the front- Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Pokrovsk, and now Kupyansk to give a direct middle finger to Putin, a mediocre coward.
Whatever the criticisms of his presidency, he will go down as one of the most courageous leaders of the 21st century. His contrast with Putin’s timidity is extraordinary.
