This case marks a dangerous escalation of transnational repression, with authorities targeting family members to silence critics abroad after years of intimidation against Anna Kwok—including an arrest warrant, a HK$1M bounty, and death threats.
This is a warning. Democracies must respond—or repression beyond borders will be normalized.
