The Pentagon may have underestimated the cost of the war with Iran, CNN reports
Officially, the U.S. has spent around $25 billion. But according to CNN, that is not the full amount — real costs could reach $40–50 billion. The reported figure does not include spending on rebuilding U.S. military bases.
The calculations also exclude damage from Iranian strikes. In the first days of the war, attacks hit at least nine American facilities across the region — from Bahrain to Qatar. Air defense systems were damaged and expensive military equipment was destroyed, including a reconnaissance aircraft.
The gap in estimates is understandable — rebuilding bases and replacing equipment costs billions. These expenses could ultimately become the heaviest burden.
