Ukraine has attacked the Russian Kirishinaftoorgsintets refinery and the Kirishi oil pumping station in the Leningrad region.
The Kirishinaftoorgsintets refinery is one of Russia's three largest oil refineries, with a capacity of 20–21 million tons of oil per year. It accounts for more than 6% of Russia's total refined oil production. The oil pumping station is a key facility for supplying the port of Primorsk with oil and oil products for export.
As a result of the SBU drone attack on Kirishinaftoorgsintets, three AVT units responsible for primary oil processing were hit. The fire is ongoing. A tank containing oil products was also hit at the oil pumping station.
Every barrel of Russian oil sold is a source of revenue for the continuation of the war against Ukraine. Therefore, Ukraine is systematically working to reduce this enemy revenue. Deep rear defenses no longer offer protection to Russian strategic targets, as the SBU has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to operate effectively at long range. Therefore, the Russian Federation must understand: no undertaking involved in continuing the war will go unnoticed by Ukrainian forces.
