Another Chinese "Spy" Who Once Monitored and Harassed Teacher Li Deported from Italy

On August 26, Italian media outlet *Il Foglio* reported that last Saturday, a Zhejiang woman in her forties, suspected of harassing and surveilling Teacher Li, was deported by Italy while attempting to enter the country with her 8-year-old daughter at Milan Malpensa Airport.

According to reports, she was a member of a certain Italian Chinese Chamber of Commerce and had been commissioned and paid to monitor a Chinese dissident in Italy. We learned from relevant channels that this monitored Chinese dissident is none other than Teacher Li.

Under relevant laws, she is barred from returning to Italy for the next 15 years. Her long-term EU residence permit has also been revoked.

Turin's police General Investigations and Special Operations Department (Digos) uncovered a malicious harassment network primarily targeting the Chinese dissident Teacher Li in Italy after several months of investigation.

In March of this year, eight men and women were deported; these individuals were accused of involvement in a transnational repression operation against Teacher Li.

The Italian Ministry of the Interior intends to continue taking a "tough line" on issues involving China. This stance roughly began four years ago when a report by Safeguard Defenders exposed Beijing's network. The report stated that as many as 11 Chinese police stations had been identified in Italy at the time.

Italy's current goal remains to prevent these networks from taking firm root and to identify one by one those spies masquerading as "police officers."
