As of today, Chinese rescue teams have rescued two people. Both are villagers from Resuo Village in Gyirong Town.

On a riverbed buried beneath tens of meters of sediment, rescuers are welding steel frames to reinforce the rescue site, creating stable support points that allow them to carry out further excavation through the unstable deposits.

At the same time, rescue workers digging by hand are reporting every piece of clothing and personal belonging they recover, so that people waiting for news of their loved ones can try to identify them.

My account does not want to show increasingly disturbing images. I only want to do whatever little I can to help people find their missing loved ones.

A photograph I posted two days ago helped people in Nepal locate the last known images of a group of pilgrims. It also helped their fellow citizens in Nepal’s rescue effort mark them as missing.

This has deeply shaken me.
