Bees do not only produce honey; they also sustain their colonies by gathering pollen from flowers. A single worker bee visits roughly 1,000 to 1,500 flowers a day, carrying about 10 to 30 milligrams of pollen at a time using specialized structures on her hind legs known as 'pollen baskets.'
While this process is vital for the colony's nutrition, it is equally essential for plant pollination and the survival of our ecosystem. Yet, the ability of such a tiny creature to identify the right flowers, navigate with precision, and repeat this exhausting cycle thousands of times can hardly be attributed to mere chance.
They truly deserve our utmost respect.
