The CCP wants Tibetan children separated from their families, language and culture, and it wants anyone who exposes this reality to stay silent.
Now Tibetan scholar Dr. Gyal Lo is facing a lawsuit brought by his former employer, Yunnan Normal University, after years of exposing China’s boarding school system and speaking internationally for Tibetan children. Legal papers were served at his family home in Toronto while he was in Geneva advocating for their rights.
The university is seeking approximately CAD 203,000. Tibet Action Institute describes the case as politically motivated, warning that it is an attempt to intimidate and silence Dr. Gyal Lo beyond China’s borders.
When Beijing cannot silence the truth inside Tibet, it tries to carry its intimidation abroad.
Dr. Gyal Lo’s voice must not be silenced. Tibetan children deserve their families, their mother tongue and the right to grow up connected to their own culture.
