A retired Chinese women’s footballer (Chen Yun) filmed herself arguing with Japanese staff at a Nagoya Asian Games venue over a large suitcase she brought into the stands.
Her explanation: it passed security, there was no storage, the nearby seats were empty, and it wasn’t blocking anyone. She later admitted the insults (“小日子”, “纯傻逼”, etc.) were inappropriate.
Official Aichi-Nagoya 2026 rules, published weeks earlier:
• No luggage storage or lockers at any venue
• Large suitcases and travel bags are prohibited
• Only soft bags ≤ ~25 liters are allowed
• Follow staff instructions
Chinese stadium rules (Hangzhou Asian Games, CSL, etc.) also ban oversized bags that exceed seat width or obstruct seating, but they are usually phrased more loosely around “too big for the seat” rather than an absolute suitcase ban + zero storage.
The video went viral mainly because of the language and refusal, not because the luggage rule itself was secret.
