A $200 DINNER, THREE WALKOUTS, AND AN OWNER WHO SAID ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Three customers at Phlavz Bar & Grille in Chicago enjoyed a $200 shrimp and lobster dinner, then took off without paying.
After the surveillance video went viral, they were identified, and someone offered to pay the bill. But owner Phil Simpson refused. He wanted to pursue the matter legally and send a message that this behavior wouldn’t be tolerated.
And here’s something else worth thinking about. The waitress who served them has children at home and relies partly on tips. She’s the one who did all the work and got stiffed.
Now watch the video closely. The last person appears to hesitate before leaving. Did she know what the others were planning, or did she suddenly realize what was happening and follow them? We don’t know.
And here’s another question. If you were sitting at that restaurant and saw people running out without paying, would you speak up, alert the staff, or mind your own business?
Personally, I think the owner made the right decision. Sometimes paying the bill after getting caught isn’t enough. There has to be accountability, especially when hardworking people are the ones paying the price. https://t.co/eHo14O4Gtg
